http://www.soundpure.com/p/earthworks...The Earthworks PM40 Piano Mic system is the easiest way to achieve a world class piano recording whether or not the piano lid is up or down. Whether you are recording a Yamaha C7, or a Steinway Grand Piano, or any other grand piano, it will provide you the sound and tone of the instrument that you put in front of it with dazzling accuracy. It has incredible detail, and exhibits no proximity effect, even when positioned directly over the strings, regardless of the positioning of the lid. You can have outstanding isolation from other instruments with the lid down, even in live concert piano performance, but the Earthworks PianoMic system can also deliver audiophile quality piano recordings in studios, with the lid up. Because of the neutral and natural sound of these microphones they also take wonderfully well to any kind of preamp coloration, EQ, compression, or Reverb that you want to throw at it. Call us at Sound Pure to order yours today, or discuss how it works, 888-528-9703.

The Earthworks 1021, 1022, and 1024 Zero Distortion Preamps are completely free of noise and distortion, and are really a lot like "wire and gain." Such transparency, accuracy and detail in a mic preamp are extremely useful when the sound of the instrument coupled with an amazing microphone should not be compromised. The Earthworks preamp will not add its own coloration and artifacts like just about every other preamp on the market. It is designed to delver the sound coming out of the microphone exactly that way, as if there is no preamp in the signal path whatsoever. In this video we demonstrate this performance through a variety of microphones and sources including recording acoustic guitar, piano, jazz archtop guitar, and electric guitars. Description:

Many have told us that there needed to be a better way to mike a piano for churches, performing arts centers and recording studios. The new Earthworks PianoMic System meets all of these needs:

*Incredible High Definition Audio that will outperform any microphones at any price.
* Cannot be seen from outside of the piano (needs no stands or mic booms)
* Superb sound with the piano lid either up or down
* Virtually no leakage from sounds outside the piano
* Incredible gain before feedback
* Recording studios can now record piano with other instruments in the same room
* Quick, Simple and Easy Setup

For recording studios the PianoMic System is a dream. You will never again have to spend the time and effort to mike a piano with stands and booms. Just place the PianoMic System inside the piano, position the two microphone heads where you want them and you are done. Anytime you want to record the piano, just plug the PianoMic System into your mic inputs and you are ready. Never again will recording engineers have to go to great lengths to record an acoustic piano in the same room with other instruments. Historically, they have had to place microphone booms inside the piano, close the piano lid (leaving room for the mic stand booms) then cover the piano and the openings around the mic booms with heavy moving blankets. It is a nightmare. With the PianoMic System, you simply close the piano lid (which will now close all the way because there are no mic booms) and you are in business. Leakage is insignificant, and if that's not good enough, you can now very easily cover the piano with a moving blanket (without having to work around microphone stands and mic booms). Recording studio engineers who have seen and used the PianoMic System say the PianoMic is incredible!
