What We Think

Crook Guitars are amazing hand-made electric guitars! We're happy to have this pre-owned G-Bender at the shop. It won't last long! Crook has a 12 month waiting period for all guitars. When you find a used one out there, you snag it! We had a paisley tele from Crook a few months back and that lasted all of 2 days at the shop.

This particular used guitar has seen some love but that just adds to the mojo. JBE T-Style humbucking pickups (the same used by the incomparable Danny Gatton) make this guitar sparkle and shine like any classic tele style pickups would...but without the noise! The neck has a very vintage feel and the compound radius allows for much more modern comfort than your standard small-radius guitars. And of course, the low-profile McVay G-bender makes for a low-profile, lightweight country rock and roll cannon.

Get all the tele twang you desire with this custom made guitar from one of the most in-demand builders out there. Call or Email SoundPure for more info!

Manufacturer's Description from Other

The “What If” Game

We’ve all had the experience of selecting a guitar from several standard models and choosing whatever came close to what we really wanted. But after we got the guitar home and started playing it, we’d begin the “What if?” game. “What if it had different pickups? It would sound better.” “What if it had a vintage style bridge?” “I really like this guitar, but what if it had a bigger neck?” There’s a reason there are so many aftermarket companies building replacement parts. It can be an expensive and frustrating game. It’s why I built my first guitar in the early 80s. I just couldn’t buy the guitar I wanted.

Around that time, I started a career as a touring sound engineer and was lucky enough to work closely with many great players. On the road, they discussed the shortcomings of their vintage style guitars, and then I’d update the instruments with modern features to make them usable in the real world and to improve stage sound and playability. Plus, I was in the position to hear the results when I mixed a live show. On-the-side, I started building guitars for others and implemented a lot of those ideas from the road. The orders grew.

I started Crook Custom Guitars because I felt there was a need for players to own a guitar built exactly to their vision. My version of the game is, “What if you could get what you want right from the beginning?”
