Dave Hill has been promising everyone this product for years and after several changes we finally get the counter-part to the famed Crane Song Spider.
The Egret is crammed with functions for each mixing channel; independent 'Tone' control, Pan control and an Aux Level for mixing your clean and aux signal together. There is also an Aux level for the entire 2 bus (think Reverb!), headphone output and master level for the full mix. Check out the attached PDF for a more in depth look at the controls!
As always, Crane Song raises the bar with each new piece that they deliver to us, and this should be no exception! We have been waiting for this unit for 2 years and we are not sure when we will get another unit. We have one and only one unit available currently!
Description:
Egret is an 8 channel D/A converter with a stereo mixer. The stereo mixer has level, cue send, and a pan control on each channel. Each channel also contains a solo and mute button. Egret has a master level control, a master cue send control and a headphone output with it's own level control. Each channel has a TRS insert and direct balanced outputs. The D/A converters support sample rates up to 192K and have sample rate converters on each channel for input jitter reduction. There is a front panel switch to disable the SRC for cases where low latency is required. The converters can also be used independently even at different sample rates.
