Avenson Audio Mid-Side Stereo Processor  From Avenson

Process in the Mid-Side domain

Avenson Audio

Avenson Audio Mid-Side Demo - AES 2011

The Mid Side from Brad Avenson will process your left and right stereo tracks (demonstrated here on the Avenson STO 2 stereo omni microphones) and allow you to process the mids and sides of your tracks. Now you can compress or EQ the mids or sides of your tracks separately with some analog gear. This cool piece of gear allows you to adjust the width of your tracks to give it more or less of a stereo image. Additionally there is a high pass filter. Let us know if you have questions about Mid-Side technique or other questions about how to utilize this powerful tool. 919.682.5552. or 888.528.9703

Manufacturer's Description from Avenson

The Mid-Side takes your stereo Left-Right signal and converts it via a sum and difference matrix to allow you to process the Mid and Side signals separately. Then a second matrix converts it back to Left and Right as well as giving you a width control and a sallen-key 12db/octave high pass filter for the Side signal

All the Input and Outputs are balanced on 0.25" TRS connectors. The MS outs normal to the MS inputs to allow you to use just the width and Side High Pass filter.

Housed in an attractive half rack width enclosure with an optional stainless steel rack shelf, the MidSide is ready to add more processing power to your racks.

Both the Mid-Side and the Blend are designed to be transparent tools to compliment your analog outboard gear. Short, clean signal paths keep the signals true to the source while expanding the versatility in processing.
